New Ottawa Apple Store

July 18, 2009

The Rideau Apple Store opening today was such an adrenaline rush! I felt shivery when I left the mall- the same feeling I get when meeting my favourite bands! I did not anticipate seeing such massive crowds of people. It was a real event to remember.

There was a countdown and seemingly endless cheering! The line spilled out the exterior door of the mall, and went down an entire block of Nicholas St.! Luckily it moved fast, and I was giving and receiving high fives and a sweet free t-shirt, and being ushered into the new Apple Store before I knew it. I was happy to be one of the first 1000!

Here is a short video that I took at the beginning:

I took a bunch of photos- they can be seen here until they are all done uploading, when I will organize them.

I walked around downtown Ottawa today at lunch, and took a few photos of things that piqued my fancy 🙂

The Rideau Centre passage to the Bay

There is a really nice view of the buildings downtown from the passge.

A view of the Chateau Laurier from the entrance of the Rideau Centre

It is a beautiful building, and the gardens behind it are even more gorgeous…

Elephant & Castle

A nice pub downtown that serves delicious club sandwiches 🙂 I came here for a couple of birthdays… I just heard that it will be closing soon, so this photo is to preserve its memory for me.

New Apple store in the Rideau Centre!

I am SO excited! I have never been inside an Apple Store, and I ❤ macs.

Battle Royale LAN Party

January 12, 2009

I haven’t been blogging so much lately, because I have been spending most of my spare time helping to organize a huge LAN party that is taking place from January 24-25, 2009 in Ottawa, Ontario at Carleton University. I can barely believe how soon it will be taking place! I will not be able to attend, because I will already be in France, but I have been trying my best to help make this LAN a huge success.

I was able to get Bawls, the energy drink for gamers to sponsor the event with 200 free drinks. Steam is also donating us 100 free temporary accounts for those do not own Valve games, and want to try them out and/or participate in the Valve game tournaments.

My friend, Renegade, from Pwnage.TV will also be making the trip up to Ottawa to do shoutcasting for the various tournaments!

I wish so much that I could be there, because LAN parties are always fun, and I know this one will be truly great. Please spread the word to your Canadian gamer friends ^^
