Back in March I wrote a post about various ways that cyberathletes could work out and have fun at the same time.

I was inspired to this, because I had written a letter to Valve around that time on getting into the video games industry (designing), and they really stressed the importance of having a regular workout regime. Valve is my favourite gaming company, so I took their advice to heart.

For the past 2 months I have been going to the gym on a regular basis, and I like that it keeps me energized when I get home from work. It’s a great way to stay alert during evening scrims without having to resort to caffeine. The only downside is that it is hard to stay up very late, but that can be a good thing if you have to wake up super early in the morning.

I can’t really say if I’ve noticed a big change in my playing abilities, but working out has made me feel a lot healthier and happier in general, so of course I’d recommend it 🙂
